The Green Revolution - How Green is your Indoors?

As much as we try to convince ourselves it's Springtime, many of us are either in areas of perpetual rain (or snow!), or we're stuck indoors for most of the day working - missing out on the benefits and luxuries of the beautiful outdoors! If this is you (and, you know it's you), then don't despair. There's still a way for us to experience the wonders of nature in our work spaces and homes, it all starts with you accepting it's time for a Green Revolution! Indoor Plants

Indoor plants have countless benefits. Apart from being a timely distraction - and, possibly, proving to provide a quick source of gardening during a lunch break - they have the ability to create calmer and more enjoyable environments for all. Here's a short explanation of how introducing plants to your indoor space could work for you:

Being an immediate reminder of the tranquility of nature and the outdoors, indoor plants have been reported to not only aid in the recovery of hospital patients, but they've also been considered to encourage a productive work environment. It's said that the many associations we have with plants - Spring, the birth of something new, freshness, purity - allows for a peaceful state of mind. Making for a stress-free office environment, or a space where people can be reminded of the opportunity for life.

"Isn't that why we take flowers into hospitals when our loved ones are taken ill? Whether we are aware of it or not, the presence of beauty and natural life creates a peaceful and positive environment in which those we care about can be reminded of the possibility of recovery, and of the continuation of life."

Not only this, but some plants have the ability to help us get a better nights' sleep! After all, with plants absorbing the particulates of the air that we don't need (the carbon dioxide and other impurities) we're left with clean, oxygen-filled air to breathe. Because of this, our indoor areas remain feeling fresh and not stagnant. No more musty bedrooms! No more clammy work spaces!

As with everything, some plants are more effective at helping for fresh and flowing air. Have a look below to look at my top picks for your indoor spaces!
